What Happens When You Introduce Stakeholders to the Broader Academic Community?

Intensive Program — Communities In Schools of Chicago

ChiEAC hosted our first community meeting in 2024 to formally introduce the organization to stakeholders and potential partners. We looked at this gathering as an opportunity to showcase our mission, share our vision for the future, and invite collaboration from a broad cross-section of community members. We also looked at is as a pathway to legitimizing the work we are doing in the minds of a variety of community stakeholders.

At this meeting, although small in size, we brought together educators, nonprofit leaders, advocates, and community members to create a space for meaningful conversations about shared goals and challenges. We took this opportunity to provide more than just a presentation…we facilitated a chance to build connections, spark ideas, and strengthen the network of organizations working toward common objectives.

By fostering collaboration and aligning resources, we’re laying the groundwork for more impactful and coordinated efforts to serve the community. Energy and enthusiasm for the work we are doing was palpable in the room. In reflection, I feel it was a testament to the power of collective action and the potential for transformative change.
