North Carolina at Chapel Hill Votes to Close Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion…and to Divert the Funding to Militarizing the Campus Police
We are currently witnessing an unwinding of the proverbial progressive social clock.
Colleges and universities across the country are closing offices dedicated to ensuring the equitable distribution of resources among all agents of the academic community. Naturally, with the loss of offices comes “new revenue” with which colleges and university are now deciding what to do with.
I will save you the suspense…they are not spending this money on services for students…they are spending it on means to suppress students.
In one most curious case at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), the Board of Trustees made a significant decision regarding funding for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Not unlike others doing the same thing, UNC is joining a group of colleges and universities with the dubious distinction of being void of any formal office dedicated to ensuring that all members of the academic community are treated with respect and dignity.
