Preface by Dr. Benjamin M. Drury
I met Tazz on by chance when I picked her up while driving Lyft — how else do you think we keep the lights on around here!? We started talking and I was immediately impressed with how strong and powerful she spoke about the books she wrote and is currently writing, the work she is doing in the community, how much she loves her children, and more. It was a 20 minute ride, and I really got to know Tazz. So much so, that I took her email to connect her to a local parent group. We continued talking, and we scheduled a time for an interview. During the pre-interview discussion, Tazz started to share her story and what she is currently doing. When I learned what she was doing, I knew immediately that she could help us support the communities we serve. Tazz is now currently a full member of the Chicago Education Advocacy Cooperative team offering her mental health services to the community through Spruce. Please find her story, in her words, below. Along with a link to connect with her to Vent with Tazz.
