My African Spirituality Explained — Educate to Liberate

For most of my life, spirituality was something I associated with tradition. It lived in the background of holidays, family gatherings, and shared meals. It was familiar but not fully personal. As I grew older and more reflective, I began to notice a shift. The rituals I had once gone through out of routine began to take on new meaning. The questions I used to avoid started to feel worth asking. What does it mean to live with intention? Where do we find meaning? How do we stay grounded when the world feels uncertain?

This quiet search has shaped how I see the world and how I choose to live in it. Today, spirituality for me is not about subscribing to one system of belief. It is about staying open to insight and wisdom wherever they might appear. I find meaning in nature, in silence, in science, and in shared experience. I find it in everyday moments of connection — looking someone in the eye, listening without distraction, or offering compassion without judgment.

I do not claim to have all the answers, and I am not searching for certainty. Instead, I am learning to be comfortable with questions. I try to approach life with humility, integrity, and the belief that how we treat one another matters more than what we believe.
