Four Reasons Why Parents are Opting to Homeschool their Children

Parents have every reason to provide their children with the education that they need to be adequately prepared to navigate modern personal and professional responsibilities. School shootings, teacher attrition, overdosing teens, bullying, prejudice and discrimination, and a continued emphasis on standardized testing to assess student learning are just a few of strong reasons why a parents would decide to keep their child at home so they can provide an education for them. In response to these realities, parents are opting out of sending their child to traditional school in relatively larger numbers. Homeschooling provides parents with the opportunity to customize their child’s education to suit their specific needs, learning style, and interests. Developing and providing their child (or student) with an individualized approach is one of the key advantages of homeschooling. Placing a trusted caregiver in the role of educator can have several positive effects on academic outcomes and personal development.
