Dear State’s Attorneys Suing the Government Over Student Loan Forgiveness…GROSS…JUST STOP IT!
For the love of God, please direct your attention to matters that actually have some bearing on the improvement of our society. Why aren’t you taking the same amount of time and expending the same amount of energy to address gun violence in your state, or access to clean water, or abortion (with the exception of Kansas…you go, Kansas), or anything else that will have a direct and positive impact on the lives of people living in your state? Like it or not, the fact that higher education is being revealed as the meritocratic scam that it is will not be washed away with a few lawsuits. No. The legacy of student loan debt and the burden it has placed disproportionately on the shoulders of middle class and lower middle-class families will not be disappeared by referring to the Constitution and pleading to the powers espoused in it. To be quite honest, it appears that the Constitution is something that is only referenced when it serves your position. And when it doesn’t (re: 2020 election results) then it needs to be ignored, reinterpreted, or at worst…shredded.
